The Alpha Sheath Shield is made of a mesh material that allows urine to pass though and has 90% UV protection. Due to sanitary reasons, we recommend cleaning daily with a mild soap such as Dawn dish detergent. 

We recommend cleaning the Alpha Sheath Shield daily with a mild soap such as Dawn dish detergent and water. Some customers like to purchase 2 shields so they can have one on their horse while the other dries. 

The easiest way to put the shield on is to set the bag on top of your horses back with the straps hanging down each side. Reach under your horse to grab the strap while holding the strap closest to you and clip the buckle. Adjust so the bag fits around the sheath and tighten the straps so the shield fits snug. Pull the leg straps through your horses legs and attach to the buckle on the back strap. Adjust the length so that it is snug. 

Absolutely! The shield has 2 back straps that go along the horses back as well as straps that go between the horses legs similar to a blanket. All the straps are adjustable.

We recommend the horse size for ponies. All straps can be adjusted to your horses size.

No. The Alpha Sheath Shield is designed to reduce the amount of flying insects getting to your horses sheath. This device can be used for post-op protection, summer sore prevention and treatment, to provide UV protection to the sheath, ect.

We have received lots of feedback from customers stating they love having 2 shields- one on the horse while the other shield is drying from being washed. That way your horse will always be protected. We offer free shipping on orders of 2 or more.

We understand that returns happen! It's ok! We want you to love our product! All unused and unworn shields will be accepted as long as the original tags are attached. Please try the product on your horse before removing tags. Due to sanitary reasons, returned products found to be used will not be accepted. This includes stains, urine, smells, rips, damaged buckles, etc. 

We must receive the returned item within 30 days from the date of original purchase. Once we receive your return, your refund (minus the original shipping fee) will be processed within 3-6 business days.
